TV Times

TV Times page layouts
One of the challenges in designing for weekly magazines is that features are rarely given more than a double page spread but need to create a visual balance out of many elements within that space – a lead image, a large headline and intro, pullquotes, 800 words of text, sidebars and a handful of drop-in pictures. On weekly magazines like TV Times I’ve usually had less opportunity to design many page layouts myself due to the amount of time spent working on covers, planning or checking pages, carrying out redesign projects and managing the work of art teams meeting daily deadlines, but here is a small selection of layouts that I either designed or heavily re-designed myself while working on Britain’s best-loved TV listings weekly.
